Mass Rally to STOP SB 469 - March 17

When: Saturday, March 17th at 11 AM
Where: At the Georgia Capitol

Our Basic Rights are Under Attack in Georgia!

SB 469 will:

Restrict First Amendment Activity - by banning some forms of "mass picketing" and subjecting violators to a $1000 a day fine and the organization they belong to a $10,000 per day fine. This provision is not limited to labor organization and would also limit community organizations and even church groups groups from protesting harmful elements in

Stop Free Association with Unions - SB 469 Interferes with union members' right to join and remain members of their union by forcing them to reauthorize their membership every year. SB 469 also requires employers to post notices informing members of how to decertify (get rid of) their union.

Criminalize Non Violent Civil Disobedience - SB 469 makes it a crime to "conspire" to commit trespass. This has dire consequences for organizations who organize protests and other forms of non-violent direct action. If enacted during the civil rights movement, many of the leaders of that movement would have been convicted as criminals.

This bill is an attack on Georgia's working families and every Georgians civil liberties!
